Catechism of the Catholic Church

General information

This is a texinfo/info edition of the Catechism of the Catholic Church ("CCC"), produced from the Vatican's html English edition.

The "reference" edition is available below. In the reference edition, each numbered paragraph in the CCC is a separate Info node. To display the text of CCC 1234, you would type in Emacs:

C-h i
m CCC 
m CCC 1234

or evaluate this elisp expression:

(Info-goto-node "(ccc)CCC 1234")

A separate "browsing" edition is also planned, in which the Info nodes will correspond with chapter and article headings.

When more Catholic resources are available in texinfo, I'll convert the catechism's cross-references to Info format.

Installation

Download and extract the gzipped tarball. This will create a directory "catechism".
Enter the directory and copy all the info files to a directory on your Info path. To see your Info path, type:
```
C-h v Info-default-directory-list 
```
Add this line to the "dir" file in your Info directory:
```
* CCC: (ccc). Catechism of the Catholic Church
```
If Info is running, you will need to kill its buffer and type 'C-h i' again to see the CCC entry.
