It appears that March has been designated by the keepers of the secular liturgy as Women's Herstory Month, hot on the heels of Black History Month, formerly known as February.

While I'm emoting (it's 4:00 am, I heard a weird noise and can't get back to sleep so I'm on a roll....) I think February should be good pronunciation month.........though that's doubtful -even supposedly professional talking heads on the tube are giving up that first 'r.' Must be some combination of sloth/Botox - people are just too lazy to move their lips. :)

The local news is a laugh riot most nights, and I groan in sympathetic embarrassment when we hear "Here's So-and-so with a live report" - So-and-so mispronounces the big two-syllable words and speaks so indistinctly that her reports are often jibberish.
